Okay. I’ve read all the explanations for Pranic Healing, BUT I still don’t get it. Can’t you explain it in ordinary life terms?
Sure...think of your body, when it gets tired you go to sleep. Maybe you don’t want to go to sleep Sleep is vital to the physical body to stay vibrant: deprive your body of sleep and it becomes depleted. When it gets run down, you’re more likely to catch a cold or stub a toe. Get some sleep and presto – your back up, ready to go. Pranic Healing techniques mirror sleeping in that they sweeps away the spent energy, and replenish the body with new energy, but in a waking mode.
So Pranic Healing is like sleeping?
Well, sort of. When you let your body run down, everything in your system feels it. When the energy around your body becomes depleted, your body also feels it, whether physically, emotionally or mentally. Sometimes a good shower and lots of rest is enough to regenerate healthy energy around your body. And sometimes it is not. When it is not, it is good to know the technique for clearing away the dirty energy and replacing it with clean energy. That’s Pranic Healing.
Will Pranic Healing cure me overnight?
Everyone has become so used to instantaneous satisfaction,we want healings to be done quickly and permanently as well. Prana or energy needs a little time to work. Think of rechargeable batteries, you have to plug them in to an electric source to recharge them. The length of time you leave them in the sockets determines how long they will work. Likewise, for simple physical ailments like headaches, small cuts and bruises, the physical body will absorb Prana very quickly and, as a result, the headache, bruise or cut will disappear just as quickly but for more serious ailments, the physical body will need more prana to help it heal. Just as the illness didn’t occur overnight, the cure might not manifest in a day either.
I’m very much a “Seeing is believing” sort of person and right now all this sounds like New Age off-the-rocker stuff. Where is the evidence that this really works?
There are several answers to this question: two are of the personal realm and the last is of the scientific realm. We’ll stick with the latter. At this time, there are Kirliian cameras that take pictures of auras – the energy that surrounds a person, animal, plant and even an object. So if you distrust the senses of a clairvoyant, this camera will show what the clairvoyant sees. Pranic Healers all over the world have been conducting experiments using prana to regenerate human cells, to help cure disease, to help grow bigger crops, and to help the physical body recuperate from surgeries and broken bones more quickly. But practitioners of Pranic Healing just don’t heal willy-nilly: they follow a scientifically proven system that was designed for each ailment – from simple to difficult. The modern day founder and teacher of Pranic Healing, Master Choa Kok Sui, set up experiments to find the ones that have repeatable and consistent results for each ailment. In this respect it is very scientific.
So what about the personal realm of proof?
You can find many personal testimonies in Master Choa’s books on Pranic Healing – from physical, to emotional and psychological. New testimonies are created every day, worldwide, by Pranic Healers who have their own practices, or just heal for the sake of doing service. (You can read some local testimonials here.) The best and most effective method of determining if Pranic Healing works is to try it yourself – either through a free clinic or by taking a class or by reading the basic book by Master Choa Kok Sui, Miracles Through Pranic Healing or Master Stephen Co’s book Your Hands Can Heal You, with co-author Dr. Eric Robbins. You can also pick a protocol to try on yourself.
I keep hearing that anybody can do it. Don’t you have to be a monk or guru or someone like that?
Not at all.If you have ever pursued a goal with determination or focus, you can heal. If you have ever wanted to alleviate pain from another person, you can heal. And if you can wave your hands in the air and smile, you can heal.
I gotta smile? What if I don’t have anything to smile about?
Then you may be a candidate for Pranic Psychotherapy. Seriously, when a Pranic Healer smiles while performing a healing, the energy s/he is tapping into is magnified many times over and flows more readily to the person receiving the healing.
So what if I do everything, learn everything about Pranic Healing, and decide I don’t like it? What then?
It is true that Pranic Healing will not appeal to everyone. Some practitioners instantly know Pranic Healing is their calling; others are led to Pranic Healing either through a personal friend or by their own personal ailment; and others through cultivated interest as they visited free clinics and Introductions on a regular basis. Some come thinking Pranic Healing will be a “quick fix” for their own ailment or problem and feel disappointed when they discover that this is not necessarily so. If you decide Pranic Healing is not for you, then you will have met some great people, learned new things about the human body and mind and will have a tool that you may find useful in future situations.
Suppose I go through the classes only to find that I can’t heal. What then?
Every human being has the innate ability to heal themselves and others. It is part of our energetic make-up. However, Pranic Healing may not be the healing modality for you. There are many energy healing modalities available and one of these may resonate more with you than others. Remember, there are many paths leading to the same place, and part of the fun is the journey , so discover the way that is right for you.
I’ve heard of the seven chakras or energy centers for the body, but I don’t really know how they work or what they’re supposed to do.
In Pranic Healing, practitioners actually work with eleven major chakras. They are: basic, sex, navel, mein meng, solar plexus, spleen, heart, throat, ajna, forehead and crown. They work much like lungs work – by “breathing” in clean energy and “breathing out” used energy. Instead of expanding and collapsing like lungs do, chakras spin quickly clockwise and counter-clockwise. There has been much emphasis on the esoteric function of the chakras – but they provide a very important and necessary physical function: they keep the entire physical body vital and vibrant. The names of the chakras reflect what they are in charge of: for instance, the navel chakra continually bathes the stomach and intestines with fresh prana to keep them functioning normally and so on.
